There he leads training for the women’s soccer, wrestling, and men’s and women’s gymnastics teams in addition to being a course director for PE Advanced Physical Development courses for Air Force cadets. Prior to arriving at the Air Force Academy in 2018, Taylor served as an assistant strength coach at Alabama State University for two years. He got his start in the coaching profession as an intern coach at his alma mater, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and has been a personal trainer at multiple facilities including Sterling’s Team Speed, Metro Fitness and Abercrombie.
A former college football cornerback, at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Taylor embraced the weight room leading the team in multiple performance testing categories. Following his playing career he still takes that love he developed for the weight room and continues to train regularly. Nowadays he still trains like an athlete, often running his teams’ program ahead of time as well as incorporating a lot of calisthenics and gymnastics type work into his own training. Additionally, he has previously competed in ultra-marathons and still enjoys trail running.
